POSTPONED – Training: Carbon removal as a tool for climate neutrality

Mitglieder / Member event

POSTPONED due to inclement weather. A new date will be announced shortly. Thank you for your understanding!

—Members only—

Carbon removal will likely be needed as a final step in achieving climate neutrality. We will need a variety of solutions—technological, biological and hybrid—and to maintain a differentiation between the priorities of carbon removal from those of preventing or avoiding carbon emissions, as only the latter will ensure long-term change.

In this training workshop, Johannes Naimer-Stach and Marion Zöchbauer from the Klimaschutzakademie will lead us through the role that carbon removal plays or should play in achieving climate neutrality goals, especially for corporations. We will also discuss the role of companies in scaling carbon removal and the potential contributions from the agricultural sector.

In the second part of the training, we will take a closer look at what agricultural carbon removal projects can—and could—achieve. David Luger from Bio Austria will talk about the role of agriculture in the climate crisis, as well as which measures help and which do not. Together we will examine case studies and discuss what can and cannot be realistically achieved.  Finally, we’ll take a look at what needs to happen in order to roll-out agriculture-based carbon removal on a larger scale.
