Partnerships with Climate Lab
Companies
Austrian companies must prepare now for the economy of the future. Products, services, internal processes—the core business of a company must be transformed to be climate-neutral and circular. And time is getting short.
We guide and support committed industry partners and their projects, in order to accelerate this transformation and make their actions more effective.
Public institutions
Austria has set the ambitious targets of reaching climate neutrality by 2040 and a circular economy by 2050. We work with public institutions on a variety of projects—from developing funding guidelines to convening participatory processes—to help achieve these goals. Our projects center on a multi-stakeholder approach to increase both ownership and impact.

Multi-Stakeholder Projects
In our multi-stakeholder projects (MSPs), we work with partners to specify their challenges, analyze the market context, define initial pathways to solutions, and develop proofs-of-concept that the partners can then carry forward.
Throughout the process, we incorporate cross-sectoral expertise and insights by engaging our community of start-ups, public administrators, climate professionals, academics and civil society organizations.

An initial research phase is designed to enable a deep understanding of the problem area and identify the most pressing issues. We then use a variety of formats to put our partners’ identified challenges at the center of collaborative innovation processes, such as:
- Topic-based workshops convene professionals across industries. The workshops can range from in-depth exchanges on a specific topic to building a systems-level understanding of a given challenge;
- Start-up collaborations pair industry partners with start-ups to co-develop innovative solutions to the partner’s identified challenge(s).
- Special projects are proposed by partners which could benefit from Climate Lab’s expertise in facilitating collaborative initiatives.
