Organisation: Climate Lab

David and Adrian founded Klimadashboard.org to make climate data accessible to everyone—from emissions and the expansion of renewable energy to tracking local climate goals. To ensure that data leads to action, their visualizations are simple, easy to understand, and focused on specific goals. They collaborate with cities, activists, educators and journalists, and their data was recently featured in such media outlets as The Guardian, the BBC World Service, Falter and ORF.

In the first part of the session, David and Adrian will explain how the Klimadashboard has grown and the design principles that guide their visualizations. They’ll walk us step by step through how AI and other tools are used to quickly build prototypes—techniques you can apply directly to your own work—before diving into the data and tools that you would need most.

The second part of the session focuses on your data challenges. Feel free to bring a dataset or a problem from your day-to-day work. Together, we’ll figure out which tools and visualizations can help you navigate the data jungle and build tools to make your work easier.
