Deep Dive: Circularity in Textiles

Circularity for the textile industry isn’t just about closing material loops and developing circular production methods. We also need to integrate circularity into the design process and develop new business models.

• Felix Ambros will provide an introduction to the theoretical basis of circular business models relevant to the textile industry.
• Helene Pattermann will present three key learnings from the Ministry of Climate Action’s Textile Dialogue.
• Victoria Novak will report on the first steps of Tauschbar – a place where chronically unemployed people repair and sell second-hand fashion.
• Barbara Fekete shares her experiences with verliebt- tauschen statt neu kaufen and brings a pre-loved clothing swap to the Climate Lab … (see more on that below!)

Clothing Swap: From October 16-20, you can swap your pre-loved clothes for other pre-loved clothes! A clothing rack will be set up in the Climate Lab where you can contribute your “old” clothes and browse for something “new”. Take a look in your closet—how much of that do you actually wear?
